Does the down draft from the vent effect the burner flames
Can you tell me what is the brand of the downdraft? Is it 48 inches?
That is not a appliance brand downdraft and must have been specially designed and made. That is a wolf range and like most pro ranges they do not suggest down venting. This looks like a really smart way of achieving the best of both. I've been in

spent hours comparing vent hoods of this style and found the WINDSTER RA-77B36SS was the best quality/value. i have it in a box in my front hall now and hope to see it in action within the week.
Have you looked into downdraft range hoods? The vent us right in the center
center of the cooktop--which would drive me crazy (I'm a messy cook). I like the downdrafts that sit at the back and appear at the touch of a button.
Take a look at Zephyr Range Hoods, they have a lot of very clean modern styles! I'm using one for my kitchen.
