We find another "H" fireplace design that needs to be modified and covered in our thin stone veneer. A spruce beam mantel was selected. Mountain Stack Ledge stone was installed without a mortar joint. Coordinating hearthstones were also installed. North Star Stone, Libertyville, IL

The component box was reduced in size. Our popular ledge stone called Mountain Stack stone was used and there is no visible mortar joint. The stone fireplace has nice clean lines and is well balanced. The hearthstones are coordinated to blend with the stone. North Star Stone, Libertyville, IL

I love the selection of this fireplace. We used our Wisconsin Prairie Style stone without a mortar joint. The filed stone draws the eye upward and the ledge stone blend creates the texture and drama that makes the fireplace a focal point in the room. The mantel is the Liberty Lodge in Alder. Mesh. Should you forgo a fireplace door, try this very traditional metal mesh curtain. When you need to access the fireplace opening, simply pull the curtain back. Tip: Mesh curtains, like the one here, are affordable and seem almost invisible when the fire is burning.
