Nicely done treatment. Generally a shade is mounted in a spot that maximizes the view. Keeping about 3' - 4' of wall visible above the treatment is a good idea.

I was planning on making a flat shade, but after seeing these, I would like to try and replicate. Are there plans or instructions available?
There are a lot of websites and books that you can reference to find DIY instructions on how to make roman shades at home. I would research and find one of those. I typically use a professional installer/fabricator to make my window treatments
All of the window treatments are the same fabric combining folded roman shades with ripplefold drapery.

That's right. It is a Roman shade in a cotton canvas, with a black out lining. Very economical. Best of luck to you on your project!
