ended up installing the drapes 3" from the crown moulding in all three rooms. Since the drapes were "Grommet" style, we installed the rod 5" from the crown moulding and they look great.
Always install the window treatments at the same height below the crown molding (or from the ceiling) regardless

trim and install somewhere in the middle (in your case 5 to 6 inches below the crown molding). Hope this helps. Good Luck.

getting an install next week and the Ikea installer says I will need a 3/4" deco strip above and below all floating wall cabs, but I though a 1/2" cover panel would work. I didn't really want the deco strip.You seem like the expert. What is your take? THX> :)

Much less than a kitchen dealer in my opinion...this IKEA kitchen (excluding install, appliances and quartz counters) was approx. $12K (CAD) for all the cabinetry. 16'

say to install them with contact cement. Follow manufacturer directions. The original tin ceiling tiles were nailed to wood on the ceiling, but you know, these things were done way back before contact cement or double-sided tape were invented. We just installed the Hundi semi-flush mount in the center of our kitchen and found the shadows to be sort of harsh. Do the recessed lights help with that?

hallway or install dimmers for the times when you want to show off the kitchen and learn to ignore it the rest of the time! It's just the nature of a semi flush light...hope that was somewhat helpful...Jo
we did install VERY sturdy simple wood shelving spaced 16" apart then painted the walls the same as the room, Sherwin Williams "Tony Taupe SW7038" and the Shelving is the same color as the trim which is Sherwin Williams "Dover White SW6385". Made for a nice finished look with strenght to hold small kitchen
