My kitchen available open space is 7'10" by 9'. Is it feasible to install a center counter top with a sink and eating area, as shown in the picture?
You need at least 42" all the way around a kitchen island - Then you'd need 24" depth minimum for the island cabinet and another 16" or so for an eating ledge: That adds up to at least 124"
Lower eating bench than kitchen bench - doesn't take up my work space
Down to earth. Perching up on a bar stool to eat is not everyone’s idea of a good time. This eat-in option accommodates regular dining chairs with ease.
Define a function. Kitchens are typically all straight lines and cold surfaces. Throwing in a chunk of wood "sliced" into this island for a built-in eating area is pure genius. Notice the color of the wood is completely different from all other surfaces, further defining its function.
