get the entry way rug? Thanks
I love this house! Did you use the same neutral paint color on the walls throughout the main part of the house? I'm interested in the color you used in this entry as well as that great family room with the built-ins.
Love the bench. What are its dimensions (width and depth)? Great use of space, I have a similar place.
This bench was actually pre existing in the space. White was painted green, and topped with a bench cushion and a few toss pillows. I agree that it is a nice use of the space! It is approximately 16" deep with each arm of the "L" at 3', 3'-6" respectively from the outside corner.

stain the bench a different color?
as the entry bench to the right and a rusty metal wheel at the top of the stairs. It’s a complementary blend, like the house — a new-construction home that has historic Craftsman style. That’s similar to how most of Dallas considers itself: the best of both worlds, blending contemporary with rustic."

is the bench custom made or where can you buy a bench like this
species for entry doors! The "hardest of the softwoods" is tough and durable; good screw-holding characteristics; resinous - not to the same extent as cedar, etc - but certainly Doug fir is a strong choice for exterior applications; takes and holds stain well; beautiful and quite uniform in vertical grain
Lynden Door VG Douglas fir is an excellent species for entry doors! The "hardest of the softwoods" is tough
Put your bench or storage as close to the front door to will lessen the chance for muddy tracks throughout your home.
Offer a seat and storage. Entryway benches or seats are important in encouraging shoe removal. You don't have to go overboard...

as an entry way to the attic. The close are stores sideways. And the entry to attic is straight ahead. How can I design the closet differently to make itinerary functional?

Use 2x4 with hooks/door knobs/other. For soffet in downstairs entry
bench and hooks for front entry
Pull up a bench. If your front entry is the one you use most often, a spot where you can pull up and take off your shoes is very handy. A bench — even a backless one that can double as a coffee table sometimes — is a great option.A simple coatrack holding totes, a scarf and a hat adds interest at eye level
Benches like this not only invite you to sit down; they bring a sense of history and connectedness to your home, while giving you a place to take off your shoes in comfort. The pièce de résistance in this entry is the battered — but absolutely perfect — piece of wood that has been made into a coatrack
