But as gravity pushes down on the roof, the walls supporting the rafters will want to fall outward. The horizontal tie beam is what keeps the whole thing rigid. Over time this tie beam will have a tendency to weaken and sag. That's where the post comes in, lifting and supporting to prevent the aging effects
Ceiling question. I have beamed ceiling, and right now it is just plaster between beams. Is it possible to put the paneling in between the beams after the fact? I live in Sacramento. Any recommendations

I am remodeling a house and trying to paint the beams white
However, the beams become yellowish...as if the paint keeps being absorbed even after a couple of premier paints. The contractor doesnt know what to do and i dont want to keep on painting. can someone help me and tell me how should it be
