I have recently taken off old plaster to expose interior brick walls. After cleaning should I seal them? Is there a sealer that won't alter the look of the brick? I would like to avoid the "glossy" look.

paint from brick in my condo kitchen using Peel Away, then used a brush to wash, and sealed with linseed oil. I applied it once and in 11 years did not do anything more to the brick. It looked great.
I haven't heard that brick needs to be sealed, so I'm curious to see if someone knows the answer for sure
