2 1/4" wide red oak. Totally standard flooring in most of the country. Easy to source and very cost effective. Other parts of the country more readily use white oak.

The window frames are all vertical grain Douglas Fir. --Nils
Since it is a cabin, we used a locally-sourced low-grade Michigan white maple for the floors.

how did designer come up w/this floor pattern. or lack of pattern? Love the random sizes. We need kitchen floor that will withstand heavy traffic - have worried about grout lines using tile or other material since grout stains/looks
Do you think you could use a tongue and groove hardwood (flooring) teak maybe the same way as you would the siding?
The floor is Brazilian black slate natural cleft which is very dense and does not flake.
My guess is a slate floor and cedar or teak walls, I'm going to go check the interview and see if they told us...

Furthermore, we find throughout the project, obscure glazing specified as acid-etched satin translucent. The project’s windows and doors are made of Douglas Fir, with Sapele door sills, interior rectangular sticking and exterior beveled glazing stops.
Thank you for the inquiry. These windows are CVG Douglas Fir with "Daly's Wiping Stain with Benite Sealer" 1 Part 180 Sage/ 1 Part 41 Walnut / 2 Parts 100 Golden Oak | 3 coats Sikkens Door & Window. Hope that helps!
