what we’ve done are cosmetic changes. We still plan on upgrading the kitchen, upstairs bath and replacing the old carpets for some swanky hardwood floors. All in due time.

Where did you find the mirror at?
Just wondering if the other side of the bed is decorated the same? I would like to do this bit already have a dressing mirror in my bedroom

With the setup you describe, not sure the mirror over the nightstand would
no set rule but you want to leave enough space above the mirror to see some portion of wall. The mirror in this room is hung at the same height as the bed post. If your headboard is standard (48" to 54" high) then I would suggest making the mirror a few feet higher than the headboard.
