exuberant planting. The mixture of cosmos, impatiens and verbena in an informal mass clearly shows how the complementary colors work together.
Lose inhibitions to create the perfect baroque-style planter. I suppose the planted container has been the natural home of baroque-style planting for many

grow in cool spring weather. Where I live (Deep South) we plant in fall and enjoy over the winter until late Spring.
What is the tree with the purple flowers/leaves called?
The red plant is a weeping cut leaf maple tree. Acer palmatum dissectum 'Crimson King'. I hope this helps!
That's right...they are blue pansies. We plant them in fall and enjoy them from Feb. to May. I usually take them out when I'm ready to plant summer annuals.

Colorful Pots
Everything is so pretty. Do you mind sharing what type of flowers are in the containers?
size of the plant is dependent on the variety of hydrangea you select. There are dwarf varieties (e.g., Cityline Rio Hydrangea) that only get 3', while others can grow to 10' tall and wide. The size of pot required is dependent on the variety of hydrangea you select. The larger the plant, the larger

what names of the different purple flowers & grow in Florida?
on line to see which varieties would grow in your zone. I live in the northeast, and have both of these plants in a sunny location in my garden. In Florida, they may need shade, if they are plants that can grow in your climate.
both as needed and they will bloom until we have a freeze. I've had several baby Catmint plants come up over the past few years that I've been able to move to another part of the yard or share with friends. Great plants and easy to grow. I live in East Texas where it's hot and humid in the summer. Hopefully
The dark purple is salvia( there are many varieties). The lighter plant is Nepeta( Catmint). Both are perennials( come back every year). Both like sun. Neither is butterfly bush or lavender.

Joining your local Hardy Plant Society is a fun thing to do if you're interested in plants. I also love this
looks like a daisy of some sort. In back could be an older lavender plant thats well established, the just barely reddish plant in front might be a salvia not sure about the twiggy blue plant behind the lily. This looks like an older cottage garden. There are usually a lot of seasonal magazines that

alliums, especially the large globe varieties, have become very popular as accent plants. Here they stand over a mixed planting of 'Cotton Lavender', Santolina chamaecyparissus, and French lavender, Lavandula stoechas. Their purple flowers resonate with the butte
stoechas. Their purple flowers resonate with the butterfly-shape lavender flowers and bring life to the border.
Plant the unexpected. Bright purple allium, standing tall, adds color. Artemisia and santolina are both good filler plants; their soft foliage and inconspicuous flowers serve as a backdrop

Does anyone know what the pink and light pink flowers are?
The light pink flowers on the edge are dianthus, and I agree with Helen that the dark pink looks like thrift. The really dark deep pink flowers a little further back are peonies
