story Foyer. Years later you can actually smell the stone and this added sensation creates the notion you are stepping into an old castle. The hand carved stone on the inside of the entry doors was done quite well by masons in Mexico where we imported the stone which has a marble like finish. The
over the Foyer as the Front Porch faces north and we wanted as much light as possible. The Palladian arch at right is flanked by smaller Romanesque columns and leads into the Great Hall and on to the double height Formal Living Room.
The foyer serves as the main artery of the house, connecting the bedrooms, office, living room, kitchen and dining area. The entryway is one of the few rooms in the unit painted in a darker hue: Turkish Coffee by Sherwin-Williams. A framed mirror and console table, which Dana painted glossy white,
in the foyer is the only original flooring that Joung and Guo kept. They left it because of the renovation challenges that removal would have posed.
