I also want inward swinging french doors in our office with a floating desk and cabinets on back wall but not sure what a good depth would be. Our room is 9'6" wide by 11' 10"

I am looking for small pea gravel 3/8~ 1/4" to make a french style garden would you please tell me where I can find the gravel? expensive?
this French country–inspired residence relies on symmetrical balance. From the placement of the bubbling fountain in the auto court — aligned perfectly with the front door — to the four olive trees that are placed two per side, this is a picture-perfect example of good balance. The garage is attached

Closets and Hallway to Sitting Room
The French doors are 18" each. They were in the original master bath and we recycled them with the renovation.
Use french doors (similar to these) that are in storage in garage for master bedroom to bath.

closets. French doors continue the French country look into the sitting room and block noise from the television without cutting off the space.
4. Replace Interior Solid Doors With Glass or French Doors Interior doors help provide soundproofing, something very important in the prevalent open plans today
However, French doors provide a way for rooms to share light and to avoid shutting rooms off. If the door shown here were solid, it would have felt like a dead end when shut. The narrow French doors make the hall feel open and beautiful.

French casement - no vertical element in opening
is the French casement. This window provides a large opening with no vertical element to split the opening when the window is open. A French casement allows the design to have a visually consistent casement size throughout the project while also ensuring that the window opening meets the minimum standards
stairwell, French casement windows offer excellent ventilation.
