Really feels open and relaxed. Could you share overall dimensions and depth of porch? Would really help us figure depth of our needed deck. Thank you
What is the protection from rain when standing on the porch?
face of 6 x 6 post is 7' - 8". Post base is 3" inboard of face of post -- so clearance bet. wall + post base is 7' - 5". Porch length is 46' - 8". Posts are inset from ends of porch -- spaced at 14 feet on center -- pairs at the ends and single posts for the two center posts. Good luck with your deck

the woods, that is the mechanical area for the pool equipment. That back room is only as wide as the front glass/ door area, making the plan and "L" shape. The whole front façade is 28" long. The porch dimensions of 14' x 14' 9" given is the usable space, the foot print is larger. Hope that helps.

8. A sandpit that doubles as a Zen gardenA Japanese garden could be just the solution if you like the idea of a sandpit for the kids, but don’t want it to impact negatively on your outdoor space. Just rake the sand over after a play session and it will become the perfect spot for meditating once more

Did you ever think of visiting a gardening center????
great design for 60's type front elevation.

flowers in front of the house
outside depends a lot on the condition of your front door (and the garage door, if it's visible from the street).
A wash of light across the entire entry creates a feeling of welcoming here. The look is achieved with a mix of downlights and a traditional porch light that ensures the house number is visible
indoors and produce lots of light from a very minimalist fitting. You can work them into your exterior scheme, too, by building a narrow shelf out over a front door, as here, into which downlighters can be installed. It’s a neat, unfussy look that provides a bright wash of light.

Does steps for front porch off deck have to be even with the front door?
Porch will go across front of house and around side to the door, no roof over side of house porch. Ideas?
