Really love the fireplace treatment and the tie in color in the adjoining room. I'm getting ready to start experimenting with brick painting and cant find much about this. What kind of paint can be used when painting brick around a fireplace? Do considerations need to be made for high
high heat? What typically can go wrong when painting brick? For example, do the bricks need to breathe and what happens if they can't? Do you have any thoughts about using dye on bricks, if so, what kinds of dye should be used? Lots of questions, Many thanks for your expertise!
We just used semi gloss interior paint. Since the paint stops before the inside of the fireplace, there's no problem with heat. I have never seen any damaged brick from painting, but I imagine there are "worst case scenarios" to be found. I have had clients use dye to color their bricks for a more natural
