I am not used what kind of rod the contractor used, but at our house we used galvanized plumbing pipes. You can get great connections to attach at the wall or ceiling as well. Couldn't get more sturdy. Wencke

was the plant material we used for this installation. We created the pattern using a series of eye hooks screwed into the fence with heavy gauge galvanized wire run through. The vines were then planted, removed form the nursery stakes, separated, and then fastened to the wires using horticultural ties
