Hillside Farmhouse
steep East-sloping hill. We set it across the slope, which allowed us to separate the site into a public, arrival side to the North and a private, garden side to the South. The house becomes the long wall, one room wide, that organizes the site into its two parts. The garage wing, running perpendicularly
welcomed by the wide front portico and interlocking stair tower. On the opposite side, under a parade of dormers, the Dining Room saddle-bags into the garden, providing views to the South and East. Its generous overhang keeps out the hot summer sun, but brings in the winter sun. The house is a hybrid of

I love the natural look of curb stone. Can you recommend a source
This curb stone is exactly what I'm looking for. My home is outside of Asheville. Can you recommend a source for this stone or give me a description for when I go to the stone yard. Thanks!
We didn't buy the stone in Asheville but if you'll call or go by any local stone yard and tell them you're interested in strip rubble and you're in Asheville, they will likely have long, narrow pieces of real stone from Tennessee and/or Pennsylvania. Tennessee stone is generally tan in color

Private Residence II
I'm liking the garden bench in the background of this pic. Are there any other pictures of it? Where is it from?
I know it's more practical to have weave chairs in the garden but is there any way they can be fit into the interior decor of whichever room?
tile rug and steps, and the light - like the partial arch on the door - prefer the full arch
Good idea for lake addition step transition
blue, cream and dark wood door color palette overall as well as tile, pottery and garden concept

Seville House
Do you know what kind of stone was used for the walkway?
Thanks for asking. The stone is 'Silver Cloud' granite, quarried locally from Lithonia, GA. This is the same stone that Stone Mountain is made of. The moss in the mortar joints has developed over time. This house is in a shady
