this gas fire pit to protect guests from getting licked by flames. NOTE: We wouldn't need to use THIS design, which I'm not crazy about for us.
I love this fire pit, and I love the view also.

Earth, wind and fire. We should all be so lucky as to have our patio overlook the ocean. But even a backyard may still be prone to the same sort of windy conditions. Arto built a rounded half wall around this gas fire pit to protect guests from getting licked by flames.

budget goes, know that a gas fireplace tends to cost more than a wood-burning one, and the farther from the house you must run the gas line, the more expensive it will likely be. A custom built-in fireplace will cost more than a prefab or freestanding model. Custom gas fire pits can be just as costly as
as fireplaces, though wood-burning fire pits and bowls can be found for as little as a few hundred dollars.

Fire pit off from front of house? Feature
friends, real, honest camping in the wilderness is the bee’s knees. But for me, outdoor camping at its most civilized is eating s’mores around a gas-fired pit seated on benches artistically lit by Smith & Hawken … while everyone is busy texting about the challenges of roughing it. This is what family
a feat, but it is possible — and when done right, quite fun. Building a great big fire is a must. Dress warmly and carry out plenty of thick blankets to drape over chairs and laps. It wouldn’t hurt to supplement the fire with luminarias lining the path or a few chunky lanterns placed around the seating
