Reclaimed barn wood, concrete and stainless steel were used in the kitchen to continue this aesthetic. In addition, a unique glass canopy inspired by the surrounding neighborhood hangs overhead, defining the kitchen space within the open floor plan.
Tribeca in Lower Manhattan keeps the steel columns and the wood beams and joists exposed. New construction is limited to white drywall and a steel-and-glass canopy over the kitchen. Raw, indeed. (Note the duct that is tucked between the joists in the left-center of the photo.)

Please could you tell me who made the glass awning above the door. Many thanks in advance
I would like to know how the glass awning above the door is attached?and how wide it is approximately. Would this idea be suitable over wider windows? The design looks great , excellent window protection, looks good and still lets the light in.

The brackets are stainless steel products from C.R. Laurence (crlaurence.com) and the glass is laminated with a frosted layer to the center of the glass. The brackets bolt into the header over the door.
The brackets are a product from CR Laurence which we ordered from their catalog. The width of the glass aligns to the outside line of the sidelights. The depth is 3'-0" which is enough to stand out of the rain while waiting for someone to open the door.

How canopies are structured is often hidden, such as behind thick edges, but some architects opt to express how an overhead plane defies gravity. The glass canopy over the entrance to this house is small and slender in section, so the
Suspended overhangs add an architectural note to an otherwise simple facade. Frosted glass and metal wires frame the blue front door for an interestingly fresh entry.
