I'd also love to know where to find this secretary...or ones that are similar. Would this work with lighter shade of hardwoods? Thank you!
hi-it's a Murano glass chandelier that actually came with the house when my clients bought it....used to hang in the dining room but we moved it here and put shades on it. So I'm afraid I don't know where it's from...

The chandelier is actually a Thomas O'Brien design for Visual Comfort. The shades have been added.
Can't say for sure, but this looks the same, except without the shades: http://www.circalighting.com/details.aspx?pid=723&cid= The matching sconce also looks similar...
To achieve this very soft, creamy shade, try Ben Moore's Elephant Tusk/OC-8. If the room has lots of light (like this one), Philadelphia Cream/HC-30 is another great choice.

Is the ceiling color the same as the walls or a different shade?
double layer of window treatments and do them whenever I can for the exact reasons you stated. As alternate to sheers how about trying grass weaves shades with drapery. Provides for a casual and textural look. Send a picture of your finished room. Thanks!
Is the ceiling color a shade or two lighter than the walls?
The Mei Oval Pendant by Bover is really close - it has a hand-wrapped ribbon shade with a frosted bottom diffuser. I think the only differences are the finish (the Mei is Satin Nickel) and the stem (the Mei has two vs. one). http://www
That is a custom painted wood fireplace surround. There is a stone surround & hearth and glass doors as well.

Unfortunately we do not keep a record of paint colors used, however a similar shade would be No-Nonsense 361 by Benjamin Moore. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/nononsense
The Vanity console from waterworks looks a bit different with the picture showing a glass area on the side and no chrome bar coming across, was that part custom?
Like this shade of bright intense yellow then with red accents
