If the hood has enough cfm for the stovetop' btu, does it matter the width of one compared to the other? The hood I like only comes in 42 inch but the range is 48.

What is on the wall above the cooktop and the hood
I want to try something similar in my kitchen but down sized. Did you use a glass subway tile in a chevron pattern for back splash and white or gray marble for the countertop? The whole use of color and textures are wonderful. One
