What are the countertops made of?
are the countertops and island standerd height?
black granite counters and a near ebony stain on the floor (a bit of chocolate brown added for warmth and richness). A full height, sand colored, textured tile backsplash was chosen to fill in between the counter and the cabinets. Thanks, Tom

I love the illuminated countertop, how can I make that happen?
Ceiling Pros - Looks beautiful, neat, and new. Cons - Probably cost a lot and would be hard to change the lighting in it. I think it looks best in the dinning room or a kitchen.
Suspended Ceiling Pros - very unique looking Cons - expensive; may cause the area underneath to seem

Will this back splash work well with white cashmere granite
Barbara, the granite is 1 1/4" thick.
@mlju, thanks for the question. The tops are White Spring granite.
What is the name of the granite? Please
Since granite is a natural stone, slabs with the same name can have many different tones. Take your cabinet door and a granite sample to the tile store when making your backsplash selection. But, yes, you should be able to find a slab of white cashmere granite that would be beautiful with a similar
Spring granite with 1/2 bullnose edges.
I love the cabinets and the countertops

your countertops-what thickness are they and are they marble?
other countertops, know the pros and cons and still can't give it up, then you may be a good candidate for marble, but that's difficult to know without seeing your home and how you live. Do you like to cook? Do you have kids, big or small who will leave a spill of kool-aid on the counter for hours before
legs for countertop support. Sometimes I put a fourth leg at the cabinet corner, but in this case because the leg is tapered, I didn't think it was necessary.

Love the windows to countertop! Does it create a glass cleaning problem located nxt to sink?
What countertops were used in the kitchen? Also, do you use a lot of sliestone and quartz?
perimeter countertops and teak for the island countertop. Yes, I use quartz countertops on various projects.
did not know you had ask about this...countertop on island is teak
upscale.Pros: Stone floors have been around for centuries, so it doesn't get more classic than this. Like tile and concrete, they're cool underfoot, a boon in hot climates. They're durable and require little day-to-day maintenance. And did we mention the natural beauty? Cons: Stone is expensive and not

cabinetry, countertop. (Is countertop original or part of re-do?)No backsplash on this one, but it doesn't suffer for it.
Laminate Cons: Laminate is prone to scratching, burns and, in some cases, staining. With wear and moisture exposure, the layers can peel. Because of the raw particle board core, you can't use laminate with undermount sinks, and it's also difficult to repair if it gets damaged. Cost: $10 to $30 per square
surfaces.Pros: Laminate is one of the most affordable countertop materials, so it's a good choice if your budget is tight. It's low maintenance and easy to clean. Its light weight doesn't require the support of a thick cabinet base. Cons: Laminate is prone to scratching, burns and, in some cases, staining
