mexican feather grass tucked into deck
I like this wild looking grasses
This entire site plays with mixing vernacular and modern architecture. Case in point: This Mexican feather grass looks as though it could have been plucked from a large field of agricultural wheat, and pokes out from a crisp rectangle cut into the decking. It's
example, the long plumes bending over under their own weight evoke the look of a horse's mane and just beg to be touched! The curved line of the grasses is an excellent contrast to the straight, bold lines of the building behind.

What kind of grass was used here?
can mondo grass thrive in las vegas, nevada
this is so freakin cute. Never liked mondo grass until I saw this! Great job!
Mondo grass is a lot like liriope and grows to about the same size (12" tall). But it has a more narrow leaf which gives it a softer look.
Mondo Grass will do best in shaded area in Las Vegas. I don't plant them in full sun in Los Angeles area. They will be burn in full sun area
Grass for driveway: Also called dwarf monkey grass, dwarf mondo grass can retain its lush green color even under drought conditions. It's pest resistant and only needs to be mowed

How much extra maintenance with this grass design versus all rock ?
otherwise it would have been too much stone. I feel it helps create a bit of an indoor feeling. The same look can be achieved with moss instead of grass for even easier maintenance.

Grasses combine to form this coastal eclectic garden space: carex, stipa, pennisetum, and more.
Mix of grasses and perennials for coastal area
Color, walking stones with native grass, lushness
good use of grass for slight slope
However, if spare isn't really your style, you still have options. This coastal planting bed is filled with color, both from the perennials and the grasses. It's also filled with plants. The overall look is a blend of cottage and traditional, a nice mix for a home garden and certainly up to handling coastal
challenges conventions. It is a single composition created by the pairing of exotic and native plants. Carex, Stipa and Pennisetum — carefree ornamental grasses — intermingle with Gaura and kangaroo paw in what some may call "controlled chaos." I call it irresistible.
