Pool & Pool House
choice of building & site materials, and minimalist planting. Existing trees were edited to open up selected views to the south. Rows of ornamental grasses provide architectural delineation of outdoor space. Understated stone steps in the lawn loosely connect the pool to the main house. Architect: Michael
What is the name (s) of the grasses?
Calamagrostis acutiflora ' Karl Foerster' / Feather Reed Grass. Best of all grasses due to the fact that it stays vertical...
ornamental grasses, be sure to choose noninvasive varieties.

Love this. Soft flowing thin grass against the flat bench.
If you love the look of grass but don't need a baseball field (most folks don't, unless you live in Iowa), consider letting your grass grow longer
Grasses. If you like the idea of grass but don't have time to mow the yard every week, ornamental grass may be a good alternative. The long, wispy blades will rustle softly in the breeze.
This bench seems perfectly situated in a field of waving grass. Afloat in a field of wispiness, the strong lines

Saratoga Creek House
Hi, what grasses have been used in this shot?
It's a silly question but I want to use these grasses next to my driveway so we won't be seen from the street when we swim. The only problem that we couldn't cover that area because it is only access to septic

Botanical name: Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster' Common names: Feather reed grass
Feather reed grass for sides / back
Tall feather reed grass, 36-48" tall with 24" spread
feather reed grass...four feet high but only 2 feet wide...good for narrow spots
Distinguishing traits. Commonly described as the grass in perpetual motion, feather reed grass brings together two great architectural qualities: vertical reach and movement. The light feathery foliage ebbs and sways with any amount of wind, enabling any landscape to appear more dynamic and responsive

King Forrester grasses with rose bushes
Maiden grasses and Knock Out roses
smaller leaves of roses and the pop of their color are striking against the softer, more free-form appearance of ornamental grasses.Try some larger grasses, like this maiden grass (Miscanthus sinensis, zones 5 to 9) or switchgrass (Panicum virgatum, zones 5 to 9), or smaller ones, like Mexican feathergrass

East Side Green Treehouse
Hello archadeckjuli, In some of the other pictures you can see there are a few trees on the site. The grass is still thriving today. The trees around the zoysia are cedar elm and oak. I would encourage you to contact an appropriate local landscape authority
Will this grow in shade? Under oaks & elms in Round Rock, West side? Do you know of any grasses that will? This is lovely stuff! Thanks!
Good choice for grass/ can be invasive
Use native grasses for lower maintenance

The grass is an ornamental grass called Sesleria. I am not certain of the species, but check out Sesleria autumnalis (Autumn Moor Grass). For the lavender plant, look at Lavandula x intermedia 'Provence' (Provence French

landscaping - oranmental grasses & lavender
Feather Reed Grass(Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster')Gardeners looking for a taller grass for their autumn gardens should take a look at feather reed grass. Its longer, upright seed heads make a dramatic appearance in the fall garden, and it combines well with other grasses and flowering perennials
