Love the look of ground cover. What base is used here? Is it decomposed granite? and what's the size and name of gravel? is it bird's eye brown pea gravel? Thanks.
back fill with compactable class II road base and then pour your concrete pad with rebar (in a perfect world.) The wood would rot over time and cause the concrete to crack and eventually fail. If you're looking at prefab options, you can let that sit on the gravel you already have and probably be happy
Love the table and chairs in the gravel.

Gravel. Adding a gravel path is one of the quickest changes you can make to your landscape, gravel is easy to work with and generally leans toward the heart of budget-friendly. All it takes is a few yards of landscaping cloth, some type of edging and the ability to spread gravel.
across the gravel path and the rustle of bamboo fronds when there's a breeze.
Some people hang tapestries on their hallway walls. And some people line their side garden with a textural privacy screen that resembles a fabric tapestry. This narrow side garden has a lot going for it: 1. the gravel walk is

The outside of my house is very humid. There are small mountains around little sun, and there is almost always mud. I am considering using gravel. Do you recomend it? Thank you in advance.
Thanks for answer so fast. The title was a typo I meant gravel, but it worked. I'm from Puerto Rico, thatdoes not freeze. I also thought about using a plastic before adding the stones but I don't know if it affcets the soil or if it brings any other touble for draining.
catch your gist. From my experience, I'd say yes it will cut down on mud, but depending on how it is irrigated it can still become puddly. If the gravel is deep enough then there shouldn't be too much of a problem, but it's not always the best solution for walkways. Does it freeze where you live?

I am planning a similar gravel/paver patio. Did you lay sand down before the gravel? Also, would spreading sand over the gravel and watering it down help it stay in place? Thank you!
Like gravel patio. Around our Tree
not cute pea gravel area too
price pea gravel with a few flagstones
pavers leading to gravel seating area
If flagstone doesn't work...gravel? Potted plants, bench as well.
Consider simple gravel areas. There's a reason the French and Italians use gravel so extensively — it is organic, is charming, works with a number of different house styles and is easy to install. Instead of a structure for a focal point, gravel merely creates a base for your furniture
shine against. You can add some oversize pieces of flagstone as stepping stones, as shown here, or leave it simpler. Add an edging material around your gravel area to keep the surrounding grass from growing in — steel edging, bender board and mortared stone are all great options.
