Love how the french doors separate the entryway from the heart of the home.
glass doors before main exterior door
The original entry was so spectacular that very few changes were made. "We preserved and reused millwork, doors, hardware and light fixtures wherever we could," says Hallberg. The existing oak floors were stained a dark chocolate tone, and Hallberg brought in the antique chandelier. The molding, staircase
staircase, banister and other architectural fixtures are all original to the home. The checkboard marble floor by the front door, popular in the 1920s, inspired many of the choices made throughout the home.

feet & muddy shoes- in you come through the front door, through the laundry / mud room (at the left of the photo) and into the shower area to hose away sandy feet
I love the floor being slate so you can go straight from teh lake into the bathroom. The bathroom has a curbless nice big shower. Great idea.

Love the colours in the rug! Can you please tell me where it's from?
ABC Carpet & Home, we bought it from their Bronx outlet store. We don't know the manufacturer nor the product name, we just loved the look and feel of it. It's made of silk and has colors ranging from yellow to magenta with mostly teal and green hues. It has a slight shimmer and is very soft. This rug is
available from us. Please visit our website for more information. http://studiogarneau.com/product/multi.html
