wow, 12 years old and no rust, that's awesome and a great job of finishing by the manufacture! I guess they either powder coat the finish or electro static the finish.

just over one acre, this sumptuous home presents Country French styling – with leaded glass windows, half-timber accents, and a steeply pitched roof finished in varying shades of slate. Completed in 2006, the home is magnificently appointed with traditional appeal and classic elegance surrounding a vast
and two bathrooms. Equally impressive are the resort-inspired grounds, which include a beautiful pool and spa just beyond the center terrace and all finished in Connecticut bluestone. A sport court, vast stretches of level lawn, and English gardens manicured to perfection complete the setting. Photographer:

Love the gray/blue color and distressed finish
I think that it is imperative to the design of the floor to match the shine of the finished hardwood. How do you get that shine out of the tile?
Honed is the answer, honed finish. That will take the shine off the stone tiles and allow it to match the wood look tiles.
@House Flipper - most stone tile can be purchased in either a polished or honed finish. The tile in the floor above looks more like honed to me, as it has a subtle sheen. -Steve
