Does anyone know what the span is between the batten? Is it 12" of board between each batten?
What colour is the board and batten? Thanks
what is the oncenter spacing between the batten boards? is this vinyl or hardy board?
In between the dormers is that a balcony above the 1st floor with an iron fence. If so or if not what type of flooring/roofing system is there on this flat portion. Thanks
guess that yes, it's 12". We just had the front porch gable on our new Craftsman house sided in board and batten, it looks exactly like this, and the batts are,12" apart. Our builder said since the board material (that he works with, anyway) comes in 12" widths, there's a seam every 12" that the batts
I am currently painting my house Amherst Gray (Benjamin Moore) and it looks very similar to the house pictured. I am using hardie board & batten and shakes. Our material was primed not pre-painted. with a lovely chair from Swallow Tail that's covered in a Stephen Sprouse fabric and holds a West Elm pillow. And it is all of that. But it's also a hidden office, as you'll see in the next photo.

I believe they are 8 inch boards, correct? How are they installed to get that clean consistent look? When I see painted butt jointed boards they look sloppy. There is space between some and paint between some. I would
I spec this detail in many of the houses I design and our trim guys often uses quarters wedged between the boards as they install. It's just the right size gap to keep the paint clean and the gap size completely consistent.
or, painted walls for backsplash? Maybe board and batten, like we want to do in bathroom?
Like the natural timber chopping board - practical but also a decorative touch!
Painted boards instead of tile backsplash.
lovely ambient light and offer more personality than standard recessed or track lighting. Ideally an electrician would install them with the cords hidden, though it may be possible to use plug-in versions with cord covers concealing the dangling cords.
