Home Office in Industrial Eclectic Style
Home Office in Industrial Eclectic Style
A small office with an industrial unfinished floor. We brought in a desk, Tolix chair, maps and vintage art. Photo by Allison Stewart
Hi maryahtx -- Thanks for your interest. Actually, that is the original porch floor of this 1909 Craftsman home. When the porch was enclosed, the floor was left as-is, and we think it has a nice industrial look to it. Best, Robin

but still defined as a separate room. A new powder room, home office and mudroom on the first floor and a true master suite on the second floor rounded out the changes that brought 21st century amenities and spaces to this lovely older home. Normandy Designer Vince Weber understood that in a renovation
proportion of these new rooms was paramount in keeping the project true to the home’s original compartmentalized design,” says Vince. “In addition to feeling proportionate, these new spaces needed to mimic the details of the existing home that included dark stained millwork, decorative beams, rich hardwood floors
and new spaces, that it is virtually impossible to tell which part of the home was original and which is the addition. The successful updating of this vintage home enhanced, rather than diminished, the antique nature of the home and was recognized nationally by industry peers with a 2011 Master Design

How do you protect that sofa and people sitting in it from spatters during cooking on the cooktop?
where did you get the light pendant hanging from the ceiling?
oil and if that wasn't to my liking, put on Zinsser Bull's Eye Shellac. To clarify, I do not want to use it as a cutting board. I want to protect it from stains and water marks. I have so far put on one coat of tongue oil. It has brought out some brightness in the wood. I will repeat at least one more
The distance is about 14 inches from the back of the sofa. My clients have had me over for meals and honestly it hasn't been a problem. Mostly because when they're cooking we're all sitting

make them. Try Googling "aluminum garage door" and you'll see a ton of images. I have Amarr Vista as they were the most reasonably priced. Clopay at Home Depot were more expensive. They aren't cheap -- for two car garage door, it approached $5K, but they're awesome looking.
What material is the driveway made from? How is the surface finished?
Transition from pervious concrete to permeable pavers near garage.

What is the color of the paint on this home so pretty
Do you, or know of anyone else, who builds these homes in Johnson City, TN?
water is managed by the fact the the home is elevated off the ground. If you look closely you will see that the home is on pressure treated 10x10's. We also to great care to preserve the natural grade surrounding the home as well as the top soil.
We used welded wire fabric from www.mcnichols.com. They have several patterns to choose from and we did purchase galvanized material and painted it.
I would love to build this home .... where are the rest of the pics and lay out???

The Brown Residence
Despite being located in an expansive golf community, the Brown residence celebrates stunning desert views from almost every space. Its careful design makes this possible as views to neighboring houses are edited out focused instead on distant mountains. While the residence presents an unassuming, modest
Oversize pivot doors and large expanses of glass allow abundant light and air into these spaces while broad overhangs and shading devices protect them from the harsh desert sun. awards 2011 - Texas Society of Architects / AIA Design Award 2010 - AIA San Antonio Merit Award Architecture: Lake/Flato Architects
Retro. Minimalist. Very see thru. Great idea for our office project
The home consists of four buildings: the main house, the garage, the guest suite and the office. Large windows maximize natural light inside, while large overhangs protect the interior from the desert sun. The overhangs and the pathways create connections between the separate buildings, making them all
