Thanks for your prompt response. Even the normal trim separation is better than the MDF option though isn't it? Gives the house character! Glad to hear there are ways to minimize that.

The original house, slated for demolition, was built into the dune before current coastal construction standards requiring a much higher elevation. The goal was to keep the existing scale and dynamics of the site and design a residence

How do I put my photos on houzz?
Why would you post a photo of such a nice bathroom but refuse to answer any Houzz questions about it?

Try a glass company......they installed the "frameless" glass in our house and provided the hinges.....
