We're building in Wilmington NC. Instead of recessing the fireplace, how would it look to recess the side cabinets? Any suggestions?

I like this small but roomy garden shed. I do not like how it looks, I would build one a little different using the space ideas.

Love the look of the pantry in first photo. How deep is it?
