I've been chatting with some ceilings, and they told me that they are sick and tired of being ignored and left pale white. Whether painted one color, covered in wallpaper, or decorated with a mural, the ceiling is a great and often ignored design opportunity. So look up and consider the possibilities.

There's a great contrast between the exuberant ceiling and the subdued palette in the rest of the room.

This ceiling absolutely makes the room. It adds scads of elegance and interest, and works so well with the curved shape. It reminds me of a beautiful art deco train station.
Sometimes you can fool the eye into thinking you're looking up at the heavens while indoors. It makes the space light and airy.
