I recently re-watched Home Alone, a movie that has become quite a Christmas classic. With a new perspective of family and the holidays, I couldn't help but notice how cleverly the set designers worked to pull the quintessential Christmas colors into the McCallister family house. I thought it might be fun to find ways to incorporate red and green into my own home, for the holidays and beyond.

In every house I've owned, I have always had a red room. It's warm, it's lively, and it's inviting. I imagine the McCallister's would love this shade, Dinner Party, from Benjamin Moore.

Poor little Kevin McCallister had to eat TV dinners when he was home alone. But if he had an adorable tray, it would probably make the task a little easier.
