This eclectic version of a sea-inspired theme has a vivacious vibe, thanks to the rich, dark shade of turquoise on the wall that serves as a backdrop. Considering how many colors, prints and styles are used, as well as the number of exotic pieces, it's impressive to see how coherent—and dazzling—this area looks.
A gold wallpaper in a small, modern pattern. It's pure Hollywood glamour, but it doesn't tip into Vegas style because the tone is muted and it's the only gold in the room. Note the gold and teal — always a lovely combo.

This turquoise laundry room was one of the few colorful laundry spaces to make it to the most popular photo list this year. Houzzers loved how light and bright this laundry room looks. Installing the chandelier was an adorable touch that adds a little bit of sparkle to the room.
Including this space is a bit of a stretch, but I think it makes a good point: covering one wall in fabric can look fantastic. Yes, you have to be careful not to venture into dorm-room-tapestry territory, but with a little restraint, a wall of fabric can look sophisticated, worldly, and casual all at once.
