For me, cooking is always fun. However, there are certain times when things get a little frustrating, and by frustrating that means anything to do with baking (for me, anyway). Regardless of our culinary weaknesses, we should never take anything too seriously. Another deflated ego — errr, souffle? I think it's time for some comic relief! I'm a firm believer in playing with your food. Here are my favorite picks for whimsical and slightly over-the-top fantastical kitchen accessories.

I'm getting a little tough love on my (lack of) success in baking. These definitely need to make a permanent appearance hanging from my kitchen oven.
Is it the gold detailing or the fact that one's a unicorn? OK, it's definitely the fact that one is a unicorn. I'm obsessed!

I'm having a hard time believing that this lovely lady won't instantly pop to life and help clean crumbs like Mrs. Butterworth. She's delightful!
I'm afraid if I get this milk jug I might have morning conversations with it over cereal. Heck, that actually sounds fantastic!
What did the dino salad fork say to the other dino salad fork? You know there's a joke in there somewhere. These are beyond charming.
Who better to tell you when the frozen pizza is ready than a monkey wearing banana earrings?

I love everything about this vase, mostly that it looks like a Teletubby space suit. I want so badly to have a tulip poking out of his chest pocket.

These candy-colored whisks could cure the bluest of days. So can the brownies you make with them. Now my only trouble is which color to pick! They are absolutely gorgeous.

How playful are these boat serving dishes? The little spoon oars! The salt and pepper buoys! Tabletops never looked so fun.
This candlestick instantly sends you on a magic carpet ride to Alice In Wonderland. I love every little quirky bend to it!

This bottle opener is modern, sleek and with purpose, but still gives a giggle. I think this is as stunning as it is silly. Who has a bottle to open? I need to put this birdie to work!
Do you have 10 pounds of potatoes staring at you in need of peeling? Something tells me this feisty little lady might make that task a little more entertaining.

I adore this trivet so much, I'd hate to cover it up with a hot pot. It's cheerful, playful and even shaped like a smile.

It's amazing how just a little play with color can transform an everyday object. Having trouble prying open that tin of tomatoes? Toucan do it!
I'm a firm believer that putting eyes on any inanimate object is instant comedy. This octopus scrubber is no exception.

Washing dishes might be the least favorite activity in the kitchen. This is probably the last towel I would use for the task, as it is simply too adorable. Showcased hanging on the oven door it is!
I have started a collection of small "paper cup" glasses in my cupboard. This crushed version might have to join the band. I love it!
There is no end to my amusement with egg cups. This one wins for not only the color, but the ability to make a fish look like a manga character. I'll take five.
