| The heart of the home is this large, open area comprised of the family room, kitchen, and breakfast room. Amanda used commercial grade fabrics throughout the home. All of the flooring is 24-inch tile, except in the bedrooms, which are carpeted. The chairs in the family room are upholstered in a high-grade leather while the bar stools are covered with a woven vinyl that looks and feels like leather. They easily hold up to spills and wet bathing suits. Private Comment

At the close of our tour, I asked Amanda how she became interested in interior design. She shared that prior to going into the design field, she had been planning on a career in medicine. But once she worked for a family friend who was an interior designer, she told me, "I was hooked." After working with a big design firm in Sacramento and Las Vegas, Amanda opened her own firm, AB Home Interiors in Brentwood, TN. |
