Forget these drawer sorters when you are talking about eating utensils. The very best utensil drawer organizer is absolutely the Oxo expandable utensil organizer. Each section has a sliding divider that lets you adjust the section to fit the size of the bowl portion of your spoons/forks. Then you can put in your utensils in 2 directions - the sliding dividers keep them absolutely, positively stacking on top of each other. Absolutely no slipping and sliding. I have purchased three additional of these and put them in storage just in case Oxo were to quit making this wonderful product. In my old, not-soon-to-be-renovated kitchen there are built in drawer organizers(complete with 70s orange mushroom print Contact paper). I was lucky enough that I was able to buy a cheap drawer organizer from Target and it fit perfectly above the rather shallow original organizer to create a very cheap two-tier utensil organizer. It will do until I can afford a remodel.

Thanks for featuring my silverware caddy in the 1st photo, although I must confess...that's actually a pen/pencil caddy I found at Home Goods and switched out their knob with an old antique one!

I have 16 12-piece place settings of my stainless flatware. I laid out one piece of each type utensil (fork, salad fork, iced teaspoon, grapefruit spoon, 3 kinds of knives, etc.) on a piece of brown kraft paper the same size as the drawer I wanted to use - the drawer is wide but shallow, double decker won't work. I found the most logical arrangement in order of popularity of use, marked off rectangles to fit each type, took the paper to Tap plastics and had them make me an open-bottom grid approximately 3 inches high. I put a rubber mesh in the drawer and the grid on top to keep things from sliding around. I did an open bottom so all I have to do to get rid of the crumbs is pull the flatware and grid out and clean out the drawer, I don't have to get into dozens of corners. It cost me around $75, but it has been worth every penny. I've had it for 12 years and it has worked fine in two different kitchens.
