| FILM — Jan. 25, 2012 "How Much Does Your Building Weigh, Mr. Foster?" IFC Center 323 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY Catch the New York opening of a documentary exploring the journey of architect Norman Foster’s humble upbringing in Manchester, England to his rise as one of the world’s premier architects. Directed and photographed by Norberto Lopez-Amado and Carlos Carcas, the film follows Foster’s unending search to improve the quality of life through design, touching on why architecture matters and how difficult it is to do well. The film highlights the breadth and scale of Foster's iconic works from London’s Swiss Re Tower, New York's Hearst Building, Berlin's Reichstag, the world's largest building in the world, Beijing Airport and the France's breathtaking Millau Viaduct. The film's title comes from inventor and futurist Buckminster Fuller, who famously asked Foster that question. |
