I live in a loft in Brooklyn, a recent transplant to Greenpoint (love my neighborhood!). I work as a freelance writer, blogger, stylist, gilder, and crafter. It's hip to square, at least when it comes to lampshades. The perfect lampshade polishes the look of a lamp, much in the way that a hairstyle can make or break a great outfit. (I hear Michael Kors in my head talking about styling runway hair accordingly!)

Tip: If the pendant were square, there would be a lot of rigid corners in this room. Keep in mind you want to balance out the square shapes in a room (think of all the doorways and tables that already have cut corners) with some round shapes to keep it interesting. |
