Lamp pairs give symmetry, color and personality to a space. Using beautiful lamps in pairs is one of my favorite design tools, and I have a great time finding pairs for my projects.

Although there are lots of gorgeous new lamps on the market, I always find myself looking for vintage lamp pairs. I find that vintage styles are incredibly unique, colorful and special. And you can often find a vintage pair for a fraction of what you would pay for a new lamp.

Etsy is a fantastic resource for vintage lamp hunting. I just bought a pair for myself via Etsy and thought I'd share other pairs that caught my eye during my search!

Pair Mid Century Large Ceramic Lamps Aqua Teal Crackle Finish by Go Go Thrift - $170.00 »
Vintage lamps tend to have very cool shapes, and this pair is a great example. I love the fluid, elongated gourd silhouette. Done in a soothing blue, these would be perfect as a matching set in a master bedroom — they're not too masculine and not too feminine in a color with neutral-friendly appeal.

Vintage Ginger Jar Lamps Orange Hollywood Regency Lamp by Fab N Forgotten - $150.00 »
Hello, orange (my favorite color)! Orange definitely had its heyday in the '60s and '70s. Even so, I don't come across a lot of orange lamps. This pair is so simple in shape yet so dazzling in color. They would be the perfect pop in a neutral or modern room.

Pair of 1950s Lamps With Gold Stars and Speckles by The Vintage Supply Co. - $350.00 »
These lamps epitomize the vintage lamp trifecta: cool shape, cool shades, cool colors. It seems like designers loved to take some risks with lighting back in the day, and I love the results. A fun turquoise paired with green brings a nice dose of color to a room. I'm thinking a den or maybe a boy's bedroom?

Pair of Vintage Floral Motif Ginger Jar Ceramic Lamps by URBAGE - $52.50 »
There is a yellow-hued bedroom somewhere that needs these lamps. In fact, I would use these lamps as the starting point of a yellow bedroom. Mint walls, yellow silk curtains, gingham check pillows in spring green, beautiful wood armoire — I can see it now.

Pair of Hollywood Regency Jade Green Lucite Base Lamps by Duchess Fare - $300.00 »
The deep shade of jade is what caught my eye on this lamp pair. Although I think chinoiserie as a style leans toward the feminine, this lamp pair seems very chinoiserie in a masculine way. A classic and timeless pair, these lamps will never go out of style.
