Trend Alert: Padded Headboards

denisep We bought our Italian beauty bed which has a padded hessian headboard 4 years ago and we still really love it. The bed itself is in a tobacco oak finish and has built in lights around the frame of the bed so I am a big fan of padded headboards. In fact we are just starting our loft conversion and I have already picked the bed which has a cream leather padded headboard with contrasting walnut finish to be the starting point to plan the room.

grannybeverly I've had a padded headboard for years; one then another. Who knew they had gone out of style? As someone who reads in bed it is just the best for comfort. I think it also adds a bit of sound deadening to the room and breaks up all the wood of a bedroom "suite"

ljmacneil Thanks, Wendy, for the very timely idea book. Our new mbr is under construction and I just had them move the opening for a transom window on the bed wall higher to accommodate a tall upholstered headboard - I can't wait to read and sleep in it!
