Jewelry Storage: 8 Pretty, Practical Organizing Ideas

Interiority Complex, LLC I am definitely a big fan of keeping my jewelry displayed in plain sight. If it's tucked away, I forget what I have and my necklaces get tangled. I hang my necklaces and earrings right on my bathroom wall (which is covered with the bamboo privacy fencing you find in the garden section of the home improvement stores). I keep my cuff bracelets and things that won't easily hang in a funk orange secretary I inherited from my grandmother. As you can see from the pics, I love accessories. :-)

Interiority Complex, LLC I had to add one more pic for this ideabook. I used to have my earrings displayed on 2 vintage tennis racquets I picked up at Goodwill for $2 each. As an avid tennis player, this was a fun way for me to easily display by baubles! My collection outgrew my two racquets, and I always like to change things up, so now they hang over my son's bed.

The Well Coiffed Closet I am not a big fan of displaying jewelry in a room. I like to use the Little Black Dress from The Container Store for my clients. It keeps it all organized in a slimline way in your closet and you can still see everything!

Sara Bates I turned two somewhat odd looking silver pieces into "coral" necklace displays. I am loving the other ideas I've seen here, especially the framed lace.

Summerhouse Style This pretty little beauty always holds a few necklaces for me. I also hang them from my mirror and lampshades.

gdentch I'm definitely on the side of keeping jewelry securely tucked away, since I have 5 cats. I can just see them climbing the wall display--fun for them, not so great for the bling. I bought one of those small, double-doored, wood cabinets that are meant for hanging doll clothes at the unfinished furniture store and painted a design on it (just be careful not to get paint on the hinges) then added cup hooks (pink, of course) to the inside of the top. It's great for holding necklaces away from curious felines.

donnonne Great ideas, but I'm not a fan of polishing my silver. I put my jewelry in clear plastic sandwich bags with a zip top. Put in pretty baskets labeled "bracelets" "silver sets" or whatever. Grab basket and coordinate your outfit.

janbhan Living in a seaside city tarnishes silver, and then there is dust....ziplock bags are a great idea. I keep valuable pieces locked up, but loved the idea of a little display cupboard for costume jewellery. I also have a stationery chest with shallow drawers that is perfect for storing jewellery; i have lined it with heavy cotton and have pillboxes for earrings, though stiff card with holes punched in it also keeps pairs together. Corrugated card keeps chains flat and untangled....another though I have toyed with but not implemented yet is to use a file folder with plastic document protectors. Mount necklace/pendant and earring sets on stiff card using a combination of slits and holes and slide it into the protector. Or use a concertina folder to store mounted sets.
