Bathroom Storage: Where to Keep the T.P.?

wjoy Love the wall of pockets turning TP into art. . .wonderful! Since that is not an option at my rustic cabin in the mountains, I copied the idea of the window box except mine is white.

Rough Linen I would be so tempted to play tic-tac-toe with the wall three photos down.

I was taught to leave the empty cardboard tube on the toilet seat if I couldn't find a new roll, to give fair warning to the hapless next occupant. These solutions are better!

beckers We put our extra rolls in a antique cream colored chamber pot on the floor. Most appropriate!!

patscats2 I don't like to see extra rolls of toilet paper out for two reasons. I don't think they are very decorative and also I feel like they are getting "dirty" setting out. I know, worrying about toilet paper getting dirty is kind of stupid. LOL I have a small tower I bought from WM of all places, that I store my paper in. It has a neat little wainscoting door and sides and the top is a kleenex box holder.

Perry-Lynn Moffitt We like to keep a plunger by our toilets, just in case. The handles make excellent toilet paper holders; most can stack 4 rolls easily. The rolls are easily enough removed if the plunger is needed.

hollybond LOL. I use the plunger too. I love a bit of humour in powder rooms...the "use at your own risk" sign above the toilet killed me. Canadians love humour!

Karen Schaefer Louw these handy boxes make excellent toilet paper holders...
you can also store your toilet spray, cleaner, etc in them...

Barbara Stock I have a blue and white porcelain umbrella stand that I use to hold spare TP rolls in my powder room-it holds four, and keeps them clean and mostly out of sight.

gwenniepfla I have a small white beadboard cabinet on the wall over the toilet, holds anything a guest would need while in the bathroom. I do love the umbrella stand idea, tho. I'll be on the lookout for one!

Alison gknee, I am thinking the same thing! the splash factor makes me not want my toilet paper out and about the base of the toilet... although I might try the plunger idea!!

PollyG I used to have mine on a hook hanging neatly on the side of the cistern. Unfortunately since the the earthquakes this proved that my water overflowed laterally during quakes so I've temporarily put them on the windowsill. You've given me some good ideas - I'll probably use the over the door suggestion only with a ledge to stop them falling in aftershocks.

Tracie I have mine in a very tall, clear glass wide mouth vase from HomeGoods. It fits a whole six-pack, is tall enough to keep the TP clean, and actually looks pretty artsy.

Amy's Affordable Interiors In our small downstairs bathroom, the vanity is right next to the toilet. There is a storage bin for toilet paper on the *inside* of the vanity door, so when needed, you just reach, open, and grab. I *really* don't want to look at a stack of toilet paper sitting out in the open :-). The rest of it is stored in a hand-made furniture piece on the opposite wall, and we're sure to keep the easily reached bin on the inside of the vanity door, stocked.

amaebi519 I think the basket idea is less icky than the plunger alternative - we all know where that plunger has been! The main thing, though, is that the "in-use" roll is on a spindle. My biggest peeve is when it's loose (usually in public bathrooms when staff doesn't replace the roll properly), because everyone is touching the inside of the roll, no matter how clean their hands are. Blech.

lspyke2 I store a jumbo pack in the hamper next to the stool. Alway's within reach but out of site.

kaye cie we used galvanized pipe for a slightly industrial look- works GREAT for keeping TP close at hand. it's worn well, and looks sharp. easy to customize to whatever shape/ form you need.
the bath is still a work in progress, but so far, so good!

cillisa My great- grandma used to crochet poofy dresses for plastic dolls and stick the whole thing over the t. p. roll.

ccblom In my bathroom, I have a 22" inch tall glass vase 5.5 diameter. Simple and classy. In my guest bathroom/kids bath, I covered a family size oatmeal container.; it fits two rolls perfectly!

pennypie0780 My toilet paper is not a decorative accent. It's under the sink in the cabinet, so it doesn't get splashed (by either water or other fluids) or soiled (by anything.) If I'm having company, I just make sure there's a full roll, so guests aren't inconvenienced. Also, they can peek in my cabinet if there SHOULD be a TP emergency, but I've never had a problem yet.

I agree with a previous comment that I don't like the idea of ANYTHING on the bathroom floor that may need to be handled (by me or guests.) Just too much yuck potential (and I'm not a germ-o-phobe - children SHOULD eat dirt and bugs!! - bathroom germs, though, that's just plain icky.)

lspyke2 I store mine in a hamper that matches a wooden oak shelf in the bathroom. I can store about 30 extra rolls. Without moisture.

momof5x I like many of these ideas too but if I had a basket with toilet rolls I would to place it on a stand-never the floor, and not too close to the toilet. I prefer just to leave two or three out and the rest still in plastic covering to protect from dust in a basket in closet on shelf. I hang the 2-3 in toilet roll hangers, and the good thing about these is that they are washable too.

There is another kind which is like a kitchen towel holder ( but different) you can put at least two on these.
