Although I'm not sure I'd use a file cabinet as a side table in our more traditional living room, it was the perfect choice for our small 11'x10' guest room.
Since my husband and I both have laptops, we rarely used the desk that was in the room before, but we did need the file cabinet. Removing the desk and switching to a stand alone file allowed room for the sofa bed...just in time for out-of-town guests. :-)
