A good backsplash and an island of a different color makes all the difference.
I think I like a darker countertop that blends with the floor. Gives it a richer feeling.
Too washed out. But light under the cabs is good.
Too much wood for me, but the lighted high cabinets add some color and light to the room.
Never seen corner cabinets like that!
The glass cabs at the top are what Marcia's talked about
Again...color above the cabs keeps away the washed out look.
I know any wood goes with any wood, but i'm not sure about this really dark island. One good thing about cabs that do not go to the ceiling is the use of color up there to keep away the washed-out look.
Definitely like the wood island, but feel the rest of it is washed out. A colored backsplash would have helped a lot. Cabs to the ceiling, which is good.
Your eye is drawn to the floor and the countertops. No attempt to coordinate with the stainless appliances, but it works.
This is similar to what Marcia has in mind for our pantry. Build cabinets out from the wall, but in front of the pantry we would remove the hinged doors, and cabinetry build out in front would hide the pantry.
I actually don't like this one. Everything's beautiful, but I think the white cabs and light countertop washes out, and your eye is drawn to the floor.
Wood cabinets coordinates with the floor, and countertops blend with the appliances. Even with all that wood, the room is light.
Dark ctop with light wood cabs.
