A shot... I mean SHORT history of Chartreuse.
Did you know…Chartreuse is a color halfway between yellow and green that was named because of its resemblance to the green color of one of the French liqueurs called green chartreuse? The French liqueur has been made by the Carthusian Monks since the 1740′s and is composed of distilled alcohol aged with 130 (that's ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY!) herbal extracts. The liqueur is named after the Monks’ Grande Chartreuse monastery, located in the Chartreuse Mountains in the general region of Grenoble in France and is produced in a factory in the nearby town of Voiron (Isère).
If you’ve ever tried the liqueur or the hue, I want to hear/see about it!
