Carl Mattison Design This was our last house. The reason we loved the house was it was virtually untouched over the years. Because of the original woodwork throughout we got to design and build the perfect kitchen with modern conveniences and old world craftsman-like feel. And we put our heart and soul into it (and countless hours of building that kitchen ourselves!)

Carl Mattison Design We fell in love with this home because of the staircase. Original 1905. We love it every day.
Well, also the porch. And oh, so many other rooms. The porch did not look like this photo when we purchased it... it just well, allowed us to create this semi-tropical feel. So inviting. And we love adding things like the mexican and moroccan-like tin and glass lights... vintage, rustic, ornate all seem to go with the simple Victorian feel of the home. We really fall in love with parts of any home we own.

Woven Decor When I first saw this ranch house the old log siding and rock exterior were what I fell in love with. The house was built in the 30s and the logs were cut from the property at the base of the mountains and allowed to cure all summer before they were cut into slabs for the siding. The property is very rocky and all the rock was culled from the ranch. When we remodeled, the mason workers spent several days picking up rocks for the new wainscoting.

becinsc The minute I walked in our home, I fell in love with the tall ceilings and light that pours in during the afternoon, especially into our dining room. It helps to make my newly painted furniture in this room seem *that* much lighter and brighter, and the crystals on our newly installed crystal chandelier cascade beautiful colors all over the room. Irene Henry We had seen this house on the MLS, but all photos had been taken from the other side of the house, which has no windows at all. Then they published a view from downhill, and we had to see it. This house was built in 1969 and designed by an architect/forester, who nestled the house so thoroughly into the landscape, it is a lot like living outdoors.

Cozy Home Interiors There were so many cool aspects about our home that we fell in love with when we bought our house back in August 2011. To say it's unique is an understatement. How many homes do you see with a curved fireplace?? This by far is one of our favorite features about the home. Also, the breakfast nook is one of my favorite rooms in the house. It really draws you in with the dome ceiling and tons of windows. This room definitely brings the outdoors in which I love!!

katswhisker We had no intention of moving and then one Sunday went on a drive and saw this old cottage with an amazing cosy atmosphere sitting in a old fashioned garden full of roses, rhododendrons and camelias. My furniture for it was oversized and I am such a 'stuff' collector that it is always overfilled. But it still feels cosy and restful to come to after a long day. And I did not clean or tidy up for the pic, so you see it in its lived in state :-)

Inspire Your Life Style The view! The house was old, the floor plan was horrendous, but we could see the Napa mountains and that's all that mattered. We took care of the rest, knocking down walls to create an open, spacious floor plan.

Candy Sethi Our house was a labour of love literally. We renovated it right down to the studs and moved in two weeks prior to the birth of our first child. What we love about the house is the backyard. It is huge and the kids get so much joy out of it. There is nothing more heartwarming than seeing your children playing and enjoying the outdoor space after a family dinner on the deck or having a family bonfire to celebrate the New Year.

Summerhouse Style I have always been drawn to tiny little houses. Maybe because they remind me of cottages in storybooks, or dollhouses-not really sure. When I saw this cute little beach house I knew my search was over. It was love at first sight. It is a work in progress and is nothing that grand, but it is mine and I love it.

I had to share a photo of what made me fall in love with my little San Francisco apartment — one of the first things I noticed were these little engravings on everyone's doors. Each door on each apartment is different — some have sailboats, some have nature scenes, and ours is a hunter and a dog! Our apartment is really old, built in the 1920s, and I love all of the period details that it still has.

Heather For me it was the art deco tile in the bathroom, all the original 1938 charm (like the arches repeated in every room), and the enormous blank-slate backyard.

keyster In our last tiny starter home we had no foyer and no basement. Dirt and debris was a constant pain. Years later we searched and searched and eventually found a townhouse with both. Yes, the finished family room downstairs is my husband's favorite. But when asking me I will tell you what sheer joy it is to welcome family and friends into our home, especially during inclement weather. After shedding coats and shoes it makes inviting ones into the living room as genuine as it can get. And the bonus? My foyer came with a half bath too.

We did not fall for a certain "thing" in our next house, but for its potential. It is a u-shaped bungalow in the neighborhood we envisioned, in a big city, and has a zen-like atrium garden. The house is getting a complete overhaul and the walls towards the atrium have already been replaced by floor to ceiling windows. So, I think we fell in love with the vision.

In the winter the suns streams in the windows of our breakfast room where we spend a lot of time.I loved the house from the start because I could see it's potential. Our main floor is open and comfortable. I am looking forward to decorating.

Emily Jacob I fell in love with my house the first time I walked through it. I was able to look past the old, outdated rooms and imagine what I could do to it. I was 23 when I bought the house 2 1/2 years ago, and during that time I've completely transformed it into a cozy home. I love it!

zuitzy When we first walked into our new house, we were faced with a renovation nightmare, but the waterfront location and the potential for an amazing home gave us hope. Even though my kitchen is still under construction, I can say it's one of my favorite things about my home because we're making it exactly the way we want it. The kitchen also has the best view of the water and the gradual transformation of our back yard, from overgrown, rat-infested jungle to peaceful restorative oasis.

Minsi My house is not nearly as beautiful as the pictures submitted by other homeowners :), but I knew I found the right house as soon as I entered it. It is the perfect size with a very spacious kitchen which is very important to me. The fact that it is in a decent neighborhood very much sealed the deal.

addedcharm Must haves were a covered front porch and a beautiful open stairway. I also found a cozy living room that I was able to decorate just the way I wanted.

sutric After viewing stripped down flipped houses for a year I couldn't help but go gaga for this charming house. I was first intrigued by the brick exterior which is pretty unusual in this area. Then, whoa tileapalooza! We had our first viewing by flashlight and I felt like I was in a treasure hunt. Tile ceilings, original sconces,curved alcoves and doorways; of course I was smitten. When we finally got our keys, ripped out the carpets and found these floors I knew I'd have no regrets.

Courtney I will never forget the day I walked into this home. This is the first room in the house I saw, and I was mesmerized by the windows and view of the backyard. The backyard was so beautiful, and was so well-manicured by the previous owner, who lived to be 103 years old (and did all her own gardening until then)! Her daughter was the seller of the home, and we were lucky enough to meet her the second time we were previewing the house. She gave us all the history of her parents living here, and how her mom would watch the sunset every day with a glass of wine on this patio. She told us how there are yellow roses planted all over because these were her Dad's favorite. We just knew there was a lot of love and pride for our home that we wanted to live here.

Damian Disterdick I loved my house the minute I saw it listed. Even though it was vacant for a year and totally vandalized I fell for the entrance way, the massive fireplace and the crown molding in the grand room.

We really don't have one favorite spot in our home as I enjoy it all. But My fireplace living room area is the favorite place to decorate. The outside of my home is covered in vines which is truly an amazing site as we live in a 2 story home. Even our roof is beginning to cover, which makes our friends and neighbors call our home the tree house.

Karla I'd have to say our view. From both the kitchen/eating area, and the living area, you can see the small little lake and sweet little canyon walls across from us. We have a lovely oak tree in our front yard that provides a generous amount of shade in the summer months to relax on our deck and watch the hawks flying off the cliffs. All breeds of birds perch in it as well. It's an ideal place for my grandchildren to visit any time they need an escape from city dwelling.
