It's that time of year. Scrub down the porch furniture, bring out the cushions and votive candles, take out the tablecloth, mix up the sweet tea and set up the screened-in porch. Don't have one? It's worth considering adding one on to your house, especially if you have mosquitoes in your yard like I do!
You can program your porch for practically any use you can think up. Dining, eating, taking in a view, talking on the phone, resting in a hammock, reading, socializing, playing games, growing plants, checking your email on a laptop, working on craft projects, catching a catnap...you name it. Latvy - I have the same problem with my kitchen - the one direct window has the screened in porch off it. I've just made sure to have a lot of bright lights in my kitchen. Skylights are a great idea to help bring in the light as well.
