Houzz is the new way to design your home.
Remodeling project for San Diego bungalow.
I loike the instrustrial/retro meets modern and practice for the dining/kitchen area. What do you think of the retro light fixtures?
Interesting how they integrated the bench, if we keep the nook a dining or office area this is a good idea.
I like the linear staggered tiles here and the lighting below the cabinets.
This is a bathroom from the architect I worked with in Seattle. A Japanese soaking tub is shown here.
We may be able to shorten the counter and get a shower/tub combo at the end to make the bathroom feel a lot wider and open. Just a thought.
These tiles have a soothing color and great texture.
Another option to remove built in drawers and put open shelves
Color and textures are nice here. The floating mirror is a good idea.
We could possibly look at narrow built ins at entry wall.
Nook for wine.
It may be a good idea to put in a more functional set of drawers/shelves in the hallway. It would be a linen cabinet and storage for other items as well as have the ability to display photos, etc.
Great use of space. Are you thinking of adding some built in components in the existing bedroom closets?
This isn't exactly what I was thinking of, but adding some frosted glass panels to the top and bottom parts of the closets or doors would make the room feel a little more open.
Here is another similar example of the frosted panels at the closets. I think those existing doors are great right now, they just need to be sanded and repainted, but if you decided to replace them this could be an idea.
Sliding Door - White Bead Board
Interesting idea, not the right door at all but the concept of converting the bathroom door that hits the toilet in the master would be to add a sliding door that matches the bungalow/retro style. This would really make that bathroom feel more open and be functional. Also would not do the exposed wood, just a simple white door to match the closet doors.
Contemporary Garage Doors
Folding door at garage vs. a rollup is an idea. It acts as a shade once up.
Full View Glass Garage Door
Frosted Glass roll up door, we would be looking at something that is much narrower, like 8-10ft maximum to allow room for the laundry area/storage.
Cool back splash, never seen that shape before.
Tile flooring might be overkill but a simple epoxy finish might be an option. Just throwing it out there, it helps keep the garage clean and is a finished surface.
Built ins for laundry, sink seems too small here.
This is a nice functional garage laundry area with epoxy flooring.
This isn't the house's layout but the outdoor living concept from garage to backyard is very functional and will make it feel larger.
Nicer white sliding door, but wrong black hardware
Very nice stepped garden. A bit too modern but nice composition.
Interesting, playful steps from deck or back stepped slope neck to garage.
interesting composition for stepped garden on side of garage.
Bungelow updated porch/entry. Not exactly what we would do but interesting how they added a planter instead of railing. Maybe a colored concrete planter, or one that matched the siding of the house.
Great bar and peninsula
Beige Oco shower tray
Too modern but simple shower pan and glass installed right from wall will save a couple of needed inches in the master bath. Also shower would be a square with one side open.
Glacier shower receptors
Too modern again but simple shower with fixtures installed on the wall.
Frameless Shower Enclosure
Larger than we have but a small curb is built around for the shower with glass installed on top. We might put a small door that opens to the left of the toilet.
A tiny shower with curb and small glass door.
We could also do a small pony (half) wall on the side that faces the toilet that acts as a shelf to put things on in the shower.
Approximate size of your master shower.
Small corner shower.
This shower is tiny but the glass is open on one side to give more elbow room.
Corner shower that has angle to open to room. We may not have enough space before the window to do this.
idea for pantry - pull out
Another pull out pantry
frosted glass pull out pantry
two tone grey and white kitchen
limestone or look alike for hall bathroom, nice texture and irregularity goes well with era of the house
