I had the old oak floors torn out in the kitchen and den and replaced them with large terracotta tiles that are also used on the front porch. The tiles are super durable and give the space a lot more warmth.
This is looking from the front foyer into the dining room. I used a dark orange for the wall and hung multiple small California plein air paintings in an asymmetrical group.
This long, narrow hallway goes down the middle of the house all the way to the large bathroom in the back. I painted it a coral color to brighten it up and had the original oak floors re-sanded.
